They are thermally expanding material seals for use in windows, doors and fire dampers.
More and more necessary for the safety of buildings, they are replacing conventional rubber seals or foam.
As a result of a fire, the expanding material, which resists flames and high temperatures for a certain period of time, closes each open section, each gap, each misalignment of a window or door, serving as a barrier and thereby preventing the propagation of flames and smoke. In essence they isolate the fire in the area in which it is generated so impeding its propagation.
Indispensable for doors and windows that must be approved to REI standards.
